Need to Know Membership Information

Shield is divided into two age groups. Fireflies who are are younger teens ages (12-15) and Butterflies who are our older teens ages (16-19). This split is to allow us to most effectivley meet the needs of each member based on their developmental stages. We require that the membership book and membership application be read and signed in it's entirety before becoming a member. Currently your child's mentor will be Zaccquannique C. Andrews. ANY changes in your child's experience with Shield will be expressed to you as soon as possible.

We consistantly urge members to uphold the standards of Shield Villagery Inc. With this, we have a zero tolerance policy regarding bullying. Bullying behaviors are defined as :

Verbal bullying is saying or writing mean things.

• • Teasing, Name-calling, Inappropriate sexual comments, Taunting, and Threatening to cause harm.

Social bullying, involves hurting someone’s reputation or relationships.

• • Leaving someone out on purpose, Telling other members not to be friends with someone, Spreading rumors about someone, Embarrassing someone in public

Physical bullying involves hurting a person’s body or possessions.

• • Hitting/kicking/pinching, Spitting, Tripping/pushing, Taking or breaking someone’s things, and Making mean or rude hand gestures.
